Q & a with Malachi…
What is your greatest accomplishment /favorite moment of your musical career so far?
-I can think of a lot, but I would say getting 2nd place at Blue Highway Fest. Which, in turn, allowed Carolina Detour to fill in for Authentic Unlimited!
2. Do you have any non music related hobbies?
-To name a few: I like playing sports both in competitive settings and just with friends. I also grew up fishing, and I love it. Those are some big ones for me.
3.What’s your favorite food?
-That’s tough, because I like almost all food. I have like at least a dozen favorites.
4.What is one thing that instantly makes your day better?
-Getting to see and spend time with friends.
5.What are you most looking forward to/next goals with Carolina Detour?
-I’m most looking forward to recording more in studio with CD. I’d say a goal for me would be to play at some amazing venues such as, “The Down Home” -that would be awesome!
6.Do you have any pets?
-We have two dogs, but I personally take care of one of them. He’s a Brittany (Spaniel) named “Smokey”.
7. What is your strangest irrational fear?
-Being crushed by a vending machine. (Sorry couldn’t help it, I couldn’t think of a strange irrational fear I have, lol)
8.What would your warning label say?
-Caution! Big Mouth.
9.What instruments do you play, what instrument would you like to learn next?
-Banjo/Guitar/ a little bass. I’d like to learn Mandolin or Fiddle.
10.What’s your favorite season and why?
-Fall, I like the warm-ish days and cool nights. I enjoy hanging out around a fire pit, and roasting marshmallows. It’s also the prettiest season in my opinion.
11.Farthest place you’ve traveled- where do you want to go?
-Pensacola, FL. That’s almost 700 miles away from home! Somewhere in Arizona or Colorado would be sweet!
12.Who are your musical mentors?
-My music teacher “Ralph McGee” has really shaped me into a musician as far as teaching me how to play, showing me dynamics, and just encouraging me to stick with it! Also my brother Elijah, has really helped me in that aspect as well.
13.What songs are on the soundtrack to your life?
